Pe data de 18 August 2013 s-a desfasurat in California - Statele Unite ale
Americii “Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance” a 63-a editie a traditionalei
reuniuni a colectionarilor de elita de automobile clasice. La aceasta editie au participat 249 de automobile din diferite clase, de serie redusa sau
prototipuri multe dintre acestea apartinand unor marci celebre precum: Alfa Romeo,
Bentley, Bugatti, Duesenberg, Ferrari, Hispano-Suiza, Lincoln, Maserati,
Marmon, Mercades, Packard sau Rolls Royce si reunite in numai putin de 30 de
categorii diferite.
La editia din acest an, constructurii Aston Martin, Lamborghini au sarbatorit 100
si respectiv 50 de ani de activitate fiind prezenti cu numeroase modele de serie
redusa sau unicate iar Porsche a celebrat 50 de ani de la lansarea
legendarului model 911 prezent deasemenea cu numeroase exemplare de serie redusa sau de
competitie ale modelului respectiv.
Printre VIP-urile prezente la aceast
eveniment s-au numarat: fostii piloti britanici Stirling Moss si Jackie
Stewart, designerii Wayne Cherry si Gordon Murray, toti 4 facand parte din
juriul concursului precum si fostii piloti germani Jochen Mass si Michael
Shumacher sau presedintele FIA Jean Todt.
Juriul acestui concurs care l-a avut
presedinte pe Chris Bock a desemnat la editia din acest an “Best of Show” un
Packard 1108 Twelve Dietrich
Convertible Victoria din 1934, exemplar restaurat si
foarte rar aflat in posesia lui Joseph & Margie Cassini din West Orange(New
Jersey-SUA). Pe langa marele premiu “Best of Show” au fost acordate alte peste
30 de premii pentru diferite clase si categorii:
